Yoga Teacher

I am a native of the Northeast Kingdom; growing up on a family dairy farm. My educational background is in nutrition and health education. I stumbled upon yoga as a way to help heal
myself from sports-related injuries.
In 2017, I completed my 200-hour Yoga Registered Teacher certification at Heart Space Yoga. Yoga provides me with tools to balance my physical and emotional wellbeing that I want to share with all yogis interested in finding their best selves!
My leisure activities include gardening and growing food, running with my dogs, yoga, biking, and spending time with my family. This class is designed for all levels of yoga practitioners. The practice and movement will focus
on proper body alignment as the framework to open and move tight fascial tissue in the body. Through breathing, music, and aligned movement, students will flow through the practice on their mats. All body types, ages, gender, and experience levels are welcome. You do not have to be flexible to do yoga! Each class begins with a centering mediation. Movements and actions within every pose are coordinated with the breath. Modified or supported poses will be encouraged to help each student achieve the pose appropriate and nourishing for themselves. Poses will include various standing, sitting, and restoratives. Classes are concluded with a quiet centering to assimilate the
spiritual experience of the class.

Yoga Teacher

Hello, My name is Katherine Anderson, Holistic Wellness coach, Yoga instructor RYT 200, Reiki Level 2 Practitioner, avid Journaler, and an ex-corporate captive. I am the Creator behind The Renegade Sage. I teach restorative yoga classes and work with clients one on one to create personalized yoga plans. I am currently offering hour long Reiki sessions, specifically focused on clearing family trauma through the energetic body. I am also accepting clients for Holistic Wellness Coaching, which centers on the balance of mind, body, and spirit. After a back injury in my early 20’s, where I was told by 40 I would be in a wheelchair, I began my own life long healing journey. In essence, the deep internal practice of Yoga created a container for me to gain back a mobile life. The injury and the practice brought me into the community of alternative healing modalities and allowed me to heal in diverse ways, physically, emotionally and spiritually, culminating in a BA in Holistic Health.

Sharing these modalities and partnering with individuals through their unique healing journey is my passion, and I would love to hear about your healing journey! If you are interested in a consultation or would like to book an appointment you can reach me by Phone:802-473-8406 Or email katherine@therenegadesage.com

As an overwhelmed and stretched-thin college student, I added a yoga class to my already “overloaded” class schedule. For an hour each week, all of the other chaos fell away and I could just be present. It was a beautiful experience that was quickly forgotten as I shifted into working and eventually back into school to pursue a Master’s degree. During that next season of “overwhelm,” I began rock climbing and running. The constant motion and activity led me back to yoga. Vinyasa classes gave me a chance to check in with my body… my heart and my mind. Now, as an avid hiker, yoga offers that same opportunity. It brings me to a place of awareness. That continued awareness allows me to hit the trails stronger and longer than ever before.
Class Description
Maybe you went for a 50-mile gravel ride on Saturday. Or you ran a 15-mile ridgeline. You hiked a 4000-footer (or two) or kayaked around a reservoir. You made toeside turns all the way down the mountain, kicking up snow in your wake. Or…you curled up on your couch and binge-watched a show while crocheting a new sweater.
Wherever or however you adventured this weekend, Weekend Warrior Recovery is here to help you shift back into “week mode.” This gentle practice will give you an opportunity to reconnect with your body, relieving soreness and improving awareness of your breath.

Why I practice and teach yoga: My yoga practice does not judge me and does not ask anything from me.  It is a safe space where I can exist, breathe, and move no matter what is crashing around outside or within me.  It welcomes me wherever I am on my journey.  It holds the highs and the lows and teaches me to be a witness to my experiences.  I am called to teach to provide a space where others can find their own relationship with the yoga practice, with the knowledge that they are safe, valued, and whole.
